Welcome to the YMCA Gymnastics in Valdosta, GA. We strive to provide your child with the fundamentals of gymnastics which enhance many other activities in the future. Our ratios are low so that we can maintain a more personal relationship with your child and provide more hands on experience. We train skills through circuit training and each coach has his/her own style of teaching.
Our organization that has been serving Valdosta area youth since 1982. As part of the YMCA Organization, we strive to instill the YMCA's core values of Honesty, Respect, Caring and Responsibility. All programs at the Gymnastics Center promote self esteem and self confidence.
The Valdosta YMCA offers a full gymnastics program for boys and girls ages 1-17. Our classes follow USAG (which is the governing body for gymnastics) guidelines. All of our staff is Adult/Child/Infant CPR and first aid certified. Our classes include: Parent/Child, Preschool, Tumbling, Cheernastics, Recreational and Competitive Boys and Girls Team. Our air-conditioned facility is 14,000 square feet that includes a full spectator viewing area and both Olympic style equipment and equipment appropriate for the pre-school child which includes: One vaulting table, three sets of uneven parallel bars, five adjustable free standing bars, five adjustable pre-school bars, One ballet bar, two mushrooms, three pre-school balance beams, four high balance beams, five low balance beams, one spring floor exercise mats, one floor exercise mat (no springs), three sets of parallel bars, two horizontal bars, two sets still rings, four pommel horses, one Tumble Trak style trampoline, one tumble strip into pit, an in ground trampoline foam pit and a huge variety of mats to train skills.
Gymnastics Attire:
ð Boys MUST wear t-shirts or tight fitting tank tops, and stretchy shorts or sweat pants without buttons or zippers. Shirts must be tucked in.
ð Girls and dancers MUST wear a one piece leotard by itself or with bike shorts/stretchy shorts. Please do not wear leotard with an attached skirt.
ð Cheerleaders & Tumblers MUST wear t-shirt tucked in with stretchy shorts, tennis shoes with socks and no midriff showing or a leotard without a skirt attached.
ð Girls must have their hair pulled up. (No Headbands)
ð All gymnasts must be barefoot.
ð For safety reasons, please remove all jewelry from your budding gymnast.
ð Parent/Child should wear comfortable clothing.
